Sunny!

The first time we have woken to a sunny morning. There have been a couple of sharp showers and quite a strong breeze but lovely blue skies to show off the scenery.

We went to call in at the The Achiltibuie Community Arts gallery this morning. Got there just after 10 but it didn't open till 11 so headed to Ullapool to return later in the day.

We stopped here to take a shot or two of this lovely scenery.
(It's really a close up of some of what is seen in Monday's blip from further back on the peninsula. Straight ahead is the Island of Tanera Mor the biggest and only inhabited island in the Summer Isles. Reputedly purchased by a MULTI millionaire. He's transforming the holiday cottages there to high end luxury holiday homes. The question is what happens when the crossing can't be made because of rough seas?
To the right is Badentarbet beach and jetty where salmon fishing boats used to bring in their catch. Talking to a lady Ina gallery on Monday she told us her daughter was married on the beach there just two weeks ago at the end of April.

Had coffee in the Tea by the Sea on the front in Ullapool. A recent takeover with some very nice pricey things as well as tea and coffee.
Noodled around more of the shops including Highland Stoneware. They have a new boat outside made of broken pots. There are several sculptures of this type at their shop in Lochinver but I hadn't seen this before. You can see Ullapool's famous Braes behind covered in yellow gorse or broom. Stocked up on petrol and food for our visitors tomorrow, excited!

A drink sitting outside Ceilidh Place this time, we noticed they were queueing for the Seafood Shack before it opened and all the tables were full when we passed again later.

Back now and the mountains and beach look great. After a late lunch we are going to take a walk down to see the tide coming in.
