King Henry VIII & the Barber Surgeons

I went to the Barber Surgeons Hall today for a Worshipful Company of Constructors court meeting and then the annual Companions Lunch. I have not been to this hall before I am sure. I am sure because I would have remembered this Holbein. Apparently it was damaged in the Great Fire of 1666 and moved to the National Library of Wales during WW2 (a good move as the Hall was destroyed in 1940! for more info click here: http://barberscompany.org/the-holbein/ My extra photo today is of the ceiling in the main hall where we had lunch. I have looked on the website but can't see any explanation of the very distinctive decoration.
