Wasps nest

I found this tiny wasps nest rolling on the floor of my garage. It was about 3cm across. It reminded me of a paper lantern, so I have illuminated it from the base. Inside there are just a few hexagonal cells, with what I guess are eggs. See the extra for a more conventional view.

I've had large active wasps nests here before, that had to be removed. I don't know if this was the start of a much larger one that was abandoned, or if it is complete. Either way, I was pleased to examine this fragile structure without the wasps.
