Nourishment

Earlier in the week I was given a bag of small corn cobs from the community garden, a butternut with one end pecked by a Pukeko, and some other veges.

Feeling a bit vulnerable to bugs I decided to make a chicken and corn soup. After work I started by sweating chopped leaks.

Various other domestic tasks slotted in with soup making. By dusk I had a few things completed and a nourishing dinner ready.

Today's gratitude: For a good book and an early night.
