This Rare Visitor to Scotland

seems to have established itself at Kinghorn Loch. I have photographed one there in three of the last four years.

They were absent from Fife for over 180 years until they started to return in 2003. I have seen at least one most years since 2009. I feared that the cold spring ('Beast from the East') might have set them back but I was delighted to photograph this today.

Comma butterfly, Polygonia c-alba

Another view in the 'extras'.
