Tyria jacobaeae

An early evening visit to the Fife Coastal Path. Too late for butterflies but found two cinnabar moths (Tyria jacobaeae). One was flying and wouldn't allow its photograph to be taken. This other one (with a torn wing) was hunkered down under a ragwort leaf and allowed me to get close up.

I'll be back tomorrow afternoon looking for Northern Brown Argus that I found there last year on June 6th. It may still be too early though.
