Hippeastrum

One day I arrived home from work to find two boxes on my doorstep - each containing a Hippeastrum bulb (commonly known as Amaryllis but apparently incorrectly so according to the RHS website)

Sis had found them at the garden centre after Christmas at the greatly reduced price of 50p each so they were duly potted up and presto - one big red bloom with more to come.   The other plant is way behind but it starting to come up so that will appear in however many weeks it takes to produce a flower.

Needless to say I had to give it the Topaz Studio treatment so that here as an extra
