Hunkered

In a deep ditch in a local field this female orange-tip was hunkering down, antennae forward and back to the stiff breeze blustering over the growing crops.

Sliding down the ditch side I tried to lean the stalk over a bit to get her on a good plane for a shot without slipping into the water. Tilly and Poppy on the other hand thought this was great fun - they love licking ears!
