Up a tree

It has apparently been decided that the best way to avoid the usual autumnal problems of "leaves on the line", which often causes significant delays to trains, is to cut down all the trees alongside the railway track.  There are now large sections of the line near us where the lovely trackside trees have been destroyed. It does seem a shame, but they seem unable to develop any other solution.
