How many Hands of Old Maid do you think a six-year-old can play in one afternoon? I can tell you it is many hands. Particularly when she’s winning. The first five hands I was the old maid. Each time my granddaughter dissolved into a fit of giggles about me being the old maid! Finally she became the old maid and we ended our rousing hands of the old fashion Victorian card game. Originally it was a drinking game in the pubs. Fortunately we only drink water!
