Giant Walking Iris

I love surprises!  This morning after a very nice rainstorm, I ventured out of the house and was surprised by the blooming of my Giant Walking Iris plant.  The reason they are called Walking Iris, is that new plants form at the ends of stems and they naturally bend to the soil as they get heavier.  The new plants form roots and grow in the soil next to the parent plant.  The name Walking Iris came from their way of spreading.  Just like a parent, we give birth to a child and they need to leave home and walk in their own path blooming along the way.  I am so grateful to God that our two children, Geoffrey and Lindsay, have created their own paths and are blooming!
