Orient Ray II

Come on now. You knew it was only a matter of time. This is the latest watch for my collection. It is an Orient Ray II and it is a 200 metre "diver". Diver style watches are very popular among us (ahem) fashionistas,  largely for their generally sporty appearance and the amount of "wrist presence" that they generate.

Of course me being rather older than I used to be, I am mainly interested in the high level of legibility that they provide. The indices are applied with dollops of luminous paint which, when exposed to strongish light for a while, can glow in dark conditions for many hours. Thus I can easily read the time in all sorts of circumstances. Something unique to this watch, in the context of my modest collection, is its fetching deep blue sun burst dial. 

For those that might be interested, this final image was generated by stacking  eight component pictures - each one focused on a different part of the dial. Keen observers will note that the crown is fully extended to "hack" the time. This causes the hands to temporarily freeze. This way several frames can be exposed at slightly different times without registering a myriad of different hands, in different locations, which don't really exist.
