Allium

The allium christophii are just starting to come out. By the time they're fully out they'll be about 6 inches or more across, looking quite unearthly. They appear to seed themselves quite freely, and come up in unexpected places, flowering within a year or two of seeding as far as I can tell. The other alliums don't appear to do this though, and decline slowly over a few years, so we occasionally top up with new bulbs. By the time the alliums are over, I'm hoping that the summer perennials will be getting ready to flower otherwise we'll have a bit of a hiatus while we wait for them.
