Stuff and Nonsense

Orange Tips

After what seems like a miracle recovery, my mum has been discharged from hospital after only 2 days. 2 hours after she got back onto the ward, she was walking herself to the toilet and back, and the following morning, proving to the OT that she could climb stairs, as she really wanted to be home for tomorrow's wedding!
3-5 days is the average time before patients normally get sent home after this type of operation, and my mum is 75! Those gym sessions really paid off as she is so fit.
She is feeling fine, in no pain and just needs a good night's sleep after being constantly interrupted by a very loud and obnoxious neighbour in the next bed.
Mum has insisted that we disappear up to the Lakes for the weekend as originally planned, as there are plenty of family around to look after her, so we are now in HPB Merlewood in Grange-over-sands.
We stopped off at Brockholes on the way for a bit of a walk around in the sunshine. There were not as many butterflies around as I had hoped, but this pair were doing their bit for their species and paying no attention to me at all.
Tomorrow we will be heading to RSPB Leighton Moss in the morning and maybe drop into Foulshaw Moss to see if the ospreys are about. The first egg is due to hatch this weekend apparently.
