Castelnaudary! The start of our Canal du Midi adventure. Supplies battened down all shipshape and bristol fashion. Grog in tiny crevices to protect from extreme weather. A place found for devices large and small. We set sail for our first adventure. Four locks in a row. It meant nothing to us adventurers! In the end it meant nothing!! The boat wouldn’t go! And by the time we found out it wasn’t our incompetence and other similar boats like the one here had left on its adventure and the boat company had agreed to replace our boat with a bigger and better one, and one that worked, the lock keeper had gone home to bed. But we’re still here waiting for his return tomorrow .morning..... providing he hasn’t taken time off for Prince Harry’s wedding that is!
