I wasn’t there!

We are on a boat on the Canal du Midi in France . We approach a lock at midday but can’t go through because the lock keeper is on dinner break! We go into the cafe adjacent to the lock. They realise we’re British and want to talk the ‘wedding’ . It’s on now! Come through and watch! We go into their private lounge and watch an hour of the wedding before the lock keeper comes back on duty.

It was rather lovely. I’m , we, are not royalists but there is something special about our royal family and other country’s love it.
