Colour now; water later

Woke with just enough time to be out at the doors onto the deck as the last stages of sunrise took place. The softness of the colours in the sky make me think of watercolour paintings. The colour didn't last much longer, and the water didn't come until mid afternoon, when rain was blown into the deck.

S and I have gone to some of the sessions at the Auckland Writers Festival, which finishes tomorrow. This evening we went to an interview with Hope Jahren, author of Lab Girl. She was a stimulating speaker, and very thoughtful in her replies to questions.
