Inside out

We took a very pleasant walk into town this morning, passing along most of Baana, which is an old railway corridor cutting across the centre of Helsinki, which is now a cycleway and pathway. The objective was to view the new street art, which has appeared there recently. It's jolly impressive, but I decided in the end to go with my own "art", in the sense of searching out a good angle on the reflections in the windows of the government building which stands to the side of Baana a little further down. The windows reflect, amongst other things, the Parliament (which isn't a particularly attractive building if you view it without the aid of the distorting effects of a reflection).

Once in town, there was a bit of shopping, including an unscheduled stop at a stall behind Lasipalasi, which was selling more of the rather attractive clothes which I was tempted to buy for my Fellowship induction earlier this week. A further couple of items were procured. I also treated myself to a new Fitbit, and Mr A got some bluetooth headphones which will be useful for listening to music when we travel. We also discovered that we can watch films on the ipad whilst each using our separate headphones, as his can be joined to mine by a wire. That could also come in handy when travelling.

The day also involved a trip to Regatta (and a sit by the water in the sun, of course), plus some rugby watching. Overall, a rather chilled Saturday.
