Avocet

I dropped Furbie off for her holiday and headed for Middleton Hall Lakes for a short walk in the sunshine.

I got a bit carried away and kept walking, past banded demoiselles making the most of the warmth. A lovely peacock butterfly posed beautifully. I walked right round the middle lake and paused to look for the avocets.

A male was strutting his stuff and a female was on her nest.

I’m back home now and had better get some packing and cleaning sorted (well, after a bit of the Giro...)

Enjoy your Sunday.
