(Not) A Cuckoo's Call

Strangely silent around Hopes today. We'd given up on seeing any Cuckoos, given the lack of the distinctive call, until we were 5 minutes from getting back to the car and found a male and female playing cat and mouse, gradually moving up a small valley.

Love seeing these, even if they always stray just that bit too far away from the camera.
