If you can't beat them...

Grange in Borrowdale

A lovely afternoon.  We were meeting Technophobe and Loose Canon in Keswick for a meal in the evening, so we decided to spend the afternoon in Borrowdale.

First stop was Nichol End marine for Coffee and one of their huge scones.  Lots going on plenty of photo opportunities.  Next we popped in to Derwentwater Marina on the off chance that blipper Sue Middleton was there.  Unfortunately not, so we will have to take her up on her "drop in" invitation some other time.

Then off to Grange.  I have never seen the river there so low.  One of the two arches had no flow whatever.  Most of the width of the river was shingle with no water.  How long to a hose pipe ban?

We rounded off the day with a walk round Keswick followed by a lovely evening with LC, T and we were joined by DavidC and his wife S.  The only odd part of the evening was the fact the first pub we chose stopped serving by 7:20 with no warning.  Stopping serving so early In Keswick in season seems more than a little odd.

P.S. es the geotag does show the shot taken from the middle of the river!  Conditions were so dry.
