Heart & Soul

The annual General Assembly of the Church of Scotland opened in Edinburgh on Saturday and will run for a week. On the Sunday of 'Assembly Week' the Church holds an open-air event called Heart & Soul in Princes Street Gardens, just below the Castle.

Various Church congregations, presbyteries, departments and other Christian organisations have stalls and displays and there is a full programme of music, drama, talks, etc throughout the afternoon.

I had been leading worship in Denny in the morning and then had a quick turn-around to get home, change and catch the train through to Edinburgh in the afternoon. Had a most enjoyable couple of hours wandering around the various tents and occasionally bumping into and chatting to people I know before getting the train back to Falkirk.

Had a lazy evening. Needed it too!
