Executions in Drumnadrochit

This Spanish Chestnut Tree is over 400 years old. Possibly the oldest in Scotland. It is in the front garden of what for around 300 years was the local Manse.

That was very handy, as it was the local hanging tree where executions took place, no doubt under the watchful eye of the local clergy.

Just as handily placed a short distance from here is the very aptly named Kilmore cemetery. Not doubt they did kill more than necessary.
