Sanquhar- backblip

Monday 21st

We said goodbye to David and all the animals this morning and got underway nice and early for our onward travels up to Sanquhar in more gorgeous weather and we had a very good journey. Our new CL is delightful, more great views, more sheep, more wildlife and a very noisy Rookery.

After set up and lunch we went for an explore in Sanquar where there is the oldest working Post Office, a very nice needle craft shop, a ruined Castle and some other features of historical interest. Mr T is going to pay a visit to the museum tomorrow. I nearly stepped on a sleepy bumble bee walking slowly on the pavement. I scooped him up on a leaf and popped him onto a dandelion which seemed to revive him.

Later, whilst Mr T sat in the sun catching up on his latest exciting read I went for a walk alongside a pretty river bounded by woods full of Campion and Bluebells accompanied by plenty of birdsong and I even shinned up a rather steep bank to view the ruins of the old Castle. I saw plenty of rabbits, a beautiful Thrush pulling up big fat juicy worms, some Butterflies, mainly Green Veined Whites and three dark ones, but flitting by so fast I couldn't get an accurate ID.

Loving our latest TravelswithMatilda.
