River Nith

Wednesday 23rd

On another beautiful day: after finishing 'Charlie III' we went into Sanquhar to the oldest post office in Britain and sent him on his way down to the Mill as a replacement for 'Charlie II'. Christine from the Mill rang to say that they had had a busy weekend and more of my items had been sold - yeah!

Coffee, scones and wifi in The Airts Cafe followed by a visit to Sanquhar's interesting Museum then a Lovely walk by the River Nith just below our caravan site. Saw lots of Black headed Gulls pursuing flies, fish leaping, Redshanks flying overhead, Orange Tip Butterflies, inquisitive cows and Chloe, granddaughter of the site owner, putting her beautiful horse through some dressage paces.

We leave Sanguhar early tomorrow for the long 150 mile journey up to Scotland's west coast. Hoping this wonderful weather follows us.
