Wanderings & Witterings

Hill

Our Wednesday walk with Cumbernauld & Kilsyth Ramblers saw us in Cowdenbeath.

Sixteen of us were out on a day that stayed dry but was not that warm. The sun threatened to break through the haar a few times, but never quite made it until we'd had our coffee and were on our way home!

Our route took us from the Leisure Centre in Cowdenbeath, through Dalbeath Marsh Local Nature Reserve and on paths and open ground to the top of Hill of Beath, from where we could look south towards the River Forth and the three Bridges. The views were not as clear as we would have liked, but it could have been worse!

After descending from the summit (only 240m), the remainder of the walk took us round the west and north of Hill of Beath before our return to the car park. We got plenty of opportunities to practise our fence-crossing and stile-crossing skills too!
