Stroppy women

I went on a guided walk in Southampton today entitled ‘stroppy women’ which took us round various places in Southampton with connections with women who bucked the trends of the day or who were active in the fight for women’s rights. We started here at Holyrood Church which was bombed in 1940 but whose remains mark a memorial to sailors including those from the titanic. The strong woman featured here was a woman who was a steward on the Titanic.
