Central Park View

Looking east along West 97th Street from our 11th floor apartment; the burnt out sky is due to the sun (nothing to be done about it).  The furthest trees above the low buildings are in Central Park. (Here's a very different  dawn view.)   We headed back to Northampton a bit after 10:00 and encountered very slow traffic for the first 40 miles out of the city--we hadn't expected it to be so bad (although Monday is Memorial Day, to be sure). But after that it was back to normal, and we arrived well in time for the Champions League final.  Real Madrid beat Liverpool 3-1 in a weird game (description here). Far too much for me to relate, but the absolute highlight was a spectacular "twisting, mid-air bicycle kick" (Guardian) by Gareth Bale for Madrid's second score; see it here.
