Carskey Bay in the Sun

(or ... It doesn't get any better than this round here)

23.2C with sunny sunshine all day long. Easterly wind to 24 mph with gusts to 34 mph.

Grocery shopping prompt this morning to get back across the main road before Mokrun started ... both the 10k and the half marathon go along the road near the start and although the roads are officially open the police hold up traffic until all the stragglers are on their way out of town. Today ... success!

We drove the ten miles or so South to Southend then followed the road round past Dunaverty beach and Kiel to Carskey Bay.

No seals on the rocks at Kiel.
Gannets - flying (there have been lots diving in the loch the last few days)
A few Ringed Plovers - pottering about on the beach

At Carskey we walked along to the far end and back. Apothecary7 took her paddling shoes and she and Fergus wandered along the bay in the water's edge. At about the halfway mark Fergus got fed up with waves and he came back to me and I let him off his lead for a run about. He promptly disappeared into the dunes where we know he likes to run along the path and pop out at the end of the dunes. Today he came running back at that point which was good.

As we got back to town we started passing the last of the half marathon runners (or more accurately strugglers, walkers, and fancy dressed charity money raisers) who were on the pavement between Stewarton and town.

Afternoon telly ... F1 from Monaco.

Later Apothecary7 was painting with Blue Rose Code on in the background.
