A Walk at Lochore Meadows

This afternoon a large group of us enjoyed a fund raising walk at Lochore Meadows in aid of a lady who lost both legs, much of one arm and part of the other hand as result of sepsis earlier this year.

It was a beautiful day and we started at what had been the pit head of the Mary Colliery which produced coal from 1902 till its closure in 1966. This whole area was created from reclaimed coal bings and is now a very popular spot for walking and cycling as well as  water sports.

The extras show the pit head with its large winding wheel and one of the Pugs ( trains) , the group before we set off and some cattle  by the loch side enjoying the sunshine.
