First flowers...!

My clematis has one open flower and two buds! I'm thrilled! It's been climbing the side of a shed by my patio garden for three years but hasn't flowered until now. It's been well fed and watered and it would seem its time has now come.

We took a drive out to Yalding this afternoon. It's on the River Medway and several brave (mad) types were jumping from a footbridge into the water....Others were paddling in water near the weir......Not us. An icecream was as big as our excitement got! Lovely to walk along the riverbank though on this very hot Bank Holiday.
