Braunton Burrows

The early morning mist soon burnt off to reveal cloudless skies and a light breeze. The last day of competition in this very technical area. A larger scale map helped and as it was a middle distance event the courses were shorter. On my runs I have been conscious of large numbers of Common Blue Butterflies. Today I actually managed to get one on camera. Not sure what the other bug is but it hung around for its photograph to be taken. We have really enjoyed all three days with the brain being tested throughout our runs. However we are looking forward to a more relaxed few days exploring this part of Devon.

Tonight at our cottage the Mayflies were putting on an acrobatic display . They were fascinating to watch.
