A day of differences.

We started off in the stark clinical light and shade of The Opera House. What wonderful architecture. It was hard not to take a shot that was stunning in its own way. It was a perfect day for accentuating the light and shadows.

After a tram journey up into the hills behind Oslo we investigated the Sculpture Park. It was hard work climbing the paths but well worth it for the views over the city. The Woods were cool with wonderful patches of light and shade. The greens were amazing.

Another tram journey finds us back down in the heart of the city at Aker Brygge in the newly developed quayside area. More amazing contrasts. This time the new modern buildings and the renovated old brick ones, the sun once again producing fantastic shadows on the white pavements (main image).

It was a delightful day if a little too hot (did I really say that?? How English of me :-))))

Just read Igor's account of the day. Differences indeed!!

Extras

1. Beautiful shades of green in the woods, accentuated by the sides of this glass ‘walk in’ sculpture.
2. A random sculpture in Aker Brygge.
3. Opera House roof.
4. Igor hiding in the shadows of the opera house.
