Yomping

After an early night and a good sleep the crowd were ready for our walk in the country. I say ready, obviously the city kids took the usual amount of persuading that it would be fun to walk through woods and that getting muddy is a good idea. But they did. And I think they had a good time. Well, I have enough photographic evidence of smiling faces to keep me happy. Fortunately we picked the right day out of the weekend and whilst it was wet and muddy enough underfoot to feel like 'proper countryside' it was nice and sunny for the fairweather city folk to cope. I might even be able to persuade them to do it again.

The morning's walk was followed by the obligatory well-earned pub lunch complete with roaring log fire. Back to the hotel for an afternoon dip in the pool and everyone was too tired to make it out to the local firework night. Oh, and it had started raining. So we hunted and gathered in the local supermarket and headed back to the hotel for a bed picnic and Strictly Come Dancing.
