Norway day 4; the train

We’re now in Bergen.  This morning we caught the train from Oslo for what many travel writers and guide books call “the greatest train ride in Europe”

Almost everyone on the train is rushing from one side or another with phones, iPads and cameras as we pass through meadows, farmland, lakes and forests before eventually climbing above the tree-line (see extras).  It takes nearly 7 hours and climbs to a height of 1222m before dropping down to the coast.

We travel Komfort Class which means comfortable seats with lots of legroom and free coffee (see extra).  For a country known to be expensive for travellers, this upgrade to first class travel cost the same as the glass of beer that Anniemay had with her dinner last night.

See Anniemay’s blip for more on this thrilling ride.

ps; thanks for all your comments. They are much appreciated I will try and catch up soon.
