Superbowl XLIII

Since we are in the USA at the moment, it seemed a shame not to head out to a sports bar with big screens to watch the Superbowl. In the end, only 7 of us made it, the others ignoring this cultural opportunity in favour of going to the mall then watching Slumdog Millionaire at the cinema... Here you see the intrepid members of our outing - some more intrepid than others as the end of the evening proved.

We ate too much (mmmm, burrito), drank rather more than is strictly prudent on a school night, and watched the BIG GAME. Having sat right through it, I have now watched exactly as many American Football games as I have normal football. Still, thanks to Wikipedia I had some clue about what was happening and there were certainly some exciting moments.

When we got back, one of the guys asked me for some quick help with our finance work for tomorrow. I did my best, but I suspect my slightly slurred interpretation of the work hasn't been as much help as he hoped... Sorry!

Before going out, my day was spent preparing the aforementioned finance work and reading LOTS of case studies for the week ahead. Finance first thing on a Monday seems unreasonable, and after that we're plunged into the "Leadership Lab" for almost two whole days. I suspect this is less canine than it sounds, and I'll come out feeling more like a Guinea Horse (in deference to the Muslim in our group who unsurprisingly prefers not to be described as a pig, Guinea or otherwise) than anything else. It should be "interesting" at any rate.

Off to bed now so I'm bright and fresh for tomorrow.

P.S. Thanks to everyone who has been commenting my journal, and I'm really sorry I've been so rubbish at getting round to commenting lately - I've just been sooooooo busy....
