CannyScot's Day

Tay Rail Bridge at Sunset

Another beautiful day

The summer weather just goes on and on up here in North East Scotland. Seems like Spring started in May and Summer came three weeks later.

Helped my wife set up a frame for tomato plants which we had been given.

It was my son's 45th Birthday today so we went out as a family for a beautiful meal across the Tay in Wormit. The restaurant is just beside the south end of the Tay Rail Bridge and as sunset approached I managed to get this silhouette of the Bridge with the shimmering river beyond.

At 45 you would think my son would have learned some wisdom - but no, a week from today he will be in Kenya preparing to run a marathon as part of a charity event for Compassion UK. Apparently it was 35 degrees Centigrade out there today. It was 22 degrees in Dundee, which was hot enough but to run a marathon in 35 degrees - slightly crazy. Still, we are proud of him taking on this challenge and as a result 10 children will be sponsored due to his efforts.
