Gardening Scotland

Word on the allotments is that this could be the last ever GS as the dates clash with the Tatton show and most growers and nurseries aren’t big enough to have a presence at both shows. So I’m glad we went.

Picked up mum and Kim and headed down for the day for the first time in years. Still some lovely things to see but overall a bit less and also less busy....which had its upsides as you could see the sights rather than deal with huge crowds. Some lovely mixed wildflower meadow planting’s and the WWI memorial gardens were lovely with hues of wildflowers and old staples of river of lavender set against the poppies, heathers and dry stane dykes.

Modest purchases made and a bit plant light compared to previous outings when we’ve had a car full of greenery on the way back but still very glad to have had a wee visit. Blazing hot day and we left as the rain started to lash down promising thunder and lightening to the Edinburgh we left behind.
