Ceannbhán

Inland today for my wildflower explorations and the bog cotton or ceannbhán is looking magnificent up on the mountain - great swathes of fluffiness. Not a bad view from up here either- that's Dunmanus Bay and the Mizen Peninsula in the distance. It was very soggy underfoot and the diminutive lousewort  - lus an ghiolla (pink) and low lying tormentil - néalfartach  (yellow) were also in evidence. The air was heady with the smell of bog myrtle and larks and choughs were wheeling and hovering above. Pretty nice.

Bantry is entering into the spirit of my challenge - see decorated boot! Actually it's a walking festival this weekend and the square is full of rather good walking boots nicely adorned. There's also  An Slua Rua - a red headed festival going on, and everything should collide and combine  tomorrow when it's also Corpus Christi! No end to the fun here.

Seems to fit
