Life through the lens...

By ValC

A little chiller.

I could find room for this!

We went into Leeds to the Food and Drink Festival in Millennium Square, but it was very disappointing.
However it did mean that we had the opportunity to visit the Leeds Galleries.
Just managed to see The Chippendale 300 Exhibition, at Leeds City Museum, before it
closes on the 9th June.
How fascinating. We have both always been interested in his furniture designs.
Remember selling many reproduction Chippendale chairs in the past.
This rosewood, tulipwood, and guilded brass wine cooler really took my fancy.
It was made in 1771 as part of a matching set, with side tables, pedestals, and vases for the Dining Room at Harewood House.
To preserve the wood, and also some of the old books etc. the lighting and atmosphere was cool and quite dark, so difficult taking photos. ( had to be quick as I wasn’t sure photography was allowed)
I have put another one on as an extra.

We had a coffee in the beautiful Tiled Hall before catching the bus back home.

Weather warm with hazy sun.
Off to have a sit out in the garden. and catch up with yesterday’s Yorkshire Post.
Mr C watching the rugby.

Nice relaxing Sunday .
