Life through the lens...

52 Years!

Where did all those years go?

So we have spent the day visiting RHS Harlow Carr.
A leisurely stroll round the gardens.
Lunch in Betty’s. Sat outside in the sunshine.
Beautiful day, in wonderful surroundings.
What more does one want. A great way to celebrate our anniversary.

Love these words on the memorial to Geoffrey Smith, who died 10 years ago age 80.
He came to Harlow Carr age 26, and with a small team, and limited resources, started to create a garden from an empty field.

The kiss of the sun for pardon,
The song of the birds for mirth,
One is nearer God’s heart in the garden,
Than anywhere else on Earth.

Have done a collage for an extra, but it had to be these blue Meconopsis, ( Himalayan Poppy) against the blue sky for my main blip.

Came home with two plants.
A Lemon Verbena to replace one I lost last year, and a climbing Lophospermum, Loftus ‘ compact rose’.   Not grown this before. Looked interesting.
