Hero Driver

Almost twelve hours after leaving Mourão, we are in our hotel near Bilbao, lunch in Olivença, and then only one short, side of the road, wee stop, where I was given this wild rose - romance is not totally dead! 

Mostly overcast and some heavy rain, and then bursts of sunshine and a rainbow curtain over a small white church. Spanish bull ex-billboards, cyprus trees, famous towns - Salamanca, Tordesillas, Valladolid (where I learnt Spanish long ago), Palencia, Santander. Tunnels and snow-covered mountains, temperatures down to 10C, soaring bridges, green, green valleys. Driving, driving, and difficult to get good photos at speed, grateful to have stopped at last.
