Graduation Prep

I couldn't mention preparations for the two day graduation events at Campbell Hall without mentioning the fact that after I gave up on trying to convince OilMan to upgrade his sartorial presence on Friday, he quietly went off and bought the jacket I recommended, which turned out to be perfect for today's baccalaureate. He even admitted that he was glad he did it.

Today's picture is of Claire doing Julia's make-up. Here is a slightly different take on the same scene (with a bit of role reversal). OilMan was awestruck by the amount of product in the bathroom shared by Julia and Claire, and thought I should take a picture of the massive number of bottles and tubes and pots of make-up. Finding the girls in there was a definite bonus.

I wasn't very clear on what a baccalaureate was, but it turned out to be musical performances by some very talented graduates, prayers for the graduates (it is an Episcopal School although 40% of the students are Jewish) and a homily. Claire, in her role as next year's student body president carried the cross at the head of the processional of graduates. She will perform the same function tomorrow at the graduation. She said she felt awkward....

There was a lunch for 750 friends and family members under a big tent following the ceremonies. I took a picture of the graduating class standing on the steps before lunch.* We were served by members of the junior class. It has been interesting to compare and contrast Peter and Julia's graduation events.
