Now, as I see it......

All Change (2)

The second of my series of Blips recording the installation of my new gas fire, tagged 'New Gas Fire'.

On Sunday morning, the electrician removed the electrics in the inglenook. Today, the builders arrived to take out the stonework. It turned out that whilst it wasn't a particularly difficult task, it was made much worse by the fact that when it was all built it was back filled with rubble rather than mortar so created masses of dust. The builders had to stop every now and again to let it settle down but looking into the room was like looking through a thick fog. They have most of it down now and have only a couple of hours more to do in the morning before it is cleared, after which the electrician can come back for the 'first fix'. Hopefully that will be the end of the dirtiest stage and we can then move on to construction rather than destruction.

This is the room after the builders left this afternoon. Close observers may notice Mrs H looking in through the hole at the back which was used for access by the chimney sweep!
