Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

The Grey Float Tradition

It must be summer now!  A spectacular day.   This group managed to drag the 3 pieces of the grey rowing float to the beach at low tide, and put it together.  Old blippers have seen this tradition many times..we never seem to make it easier… (we did a trial run yesterday, getting it close..to see if these 80 yr olds could move it,.   Oh where are those strong grandchildren when we need them?)
There is a ringer tho..in the “aquamarine” shirt…our younger neighbor..who helped a lot!   One of the book club was back making brunch of yummy artichoke pie.   We could sit in the sun to eat!   And thought there would be time for little boats before they had to leave late afternoon….but a strong wind came up..so there were walks and beach walks and reading on the deck in the sun instead.  The same neighbors used his boat in this wind at later high tide to tow the now floating float from the beach by the boathouse to our dock,.  (extra)
All in all, a fabulous time …different activities perhaps, but I’m so happy we could do it.  I’m also exhausted.  They left us all sort of leftovers..they know how much I appreciate the cooking..
And now I’m waiting to hear how (if?)  they made it across the border into the USA with one very expired passport!  The Canadian border folks  let her in, but the Americans are nastier.(as we all know)

Will put a flickr set together tomorrow after some recovery.,.;-)
