Tuesday: Acanthus Spinosus

Another fine day, planted some tomatoes into large pots and strung up ready for fruiting. Lifted all the plastic trays first and collected a few dozen slugs which are now in the compost bin.
Planted another couple of cucumbers too, can’t have too many cucumbers ...
Prepared 2 deep beds behind the garage. Planted leeks, Swiss chard, purple sprouting broccoli, cavollo Nero and perpetual spinach into one, will finish off the second one tomorrow.
Sat outdoors reading this afternoon and recycled a few more craft magazines -very hot this afternoon.
My friend gave me the acanthus (spiny bear’s breeches) many years ago, can’t remember it flowering before!
