Ightham Mote

Our first day in a motorhome and we have loved it.  There are aspects of the particular van that we have hired that we like and others that we dislike – but, in principle, we love the lifestyle; but it is only Day 1.
We set off mid morning for Kent and arrived at our destination mid afternoon – Ightham Mote for the first stop.  This is a moated manor house dating originally from the 12th century but has been added to and adapted since then, although retains its appearance as a Tudor house. We took too long at Ightham to squeeze in Hever Castle as well, so that will have to wait until another day.
Our campsite is lovely with only five hook-ups – it has all the waste disposal facilities and fresh water but not shower block – that doesn’t matter as we have those in the van.  It was interesting getting ready to sleep – we need to be a bit more organised tomorrow.
I have no mobile phone signal so cannot tether my laptop to mobile and manage a Blip tonight – back blip tomorrow I hope.
