Water Lily

'A Grand Day Out' to Dumfries House and gardens.

L has a friend staying this weekend and this was her first trip to Dumfries House. There were many evidences of yesterday's gales as the paths were strewn with leaves and bits of branches. Many of the delphiniums in the walled garden were flattened but there was still plenty to see like this lovely pink water lily.

L and Jan were going to see round the house but I had been before and was happy to wander round the lovely gardens.

The extra photo is the lovely enclosed wooden bridge spanning the Polcalk Burn that flows through the Woodland Garden
