Beautiful Bayeux

My mum and dad headed off up to the coast this morning for the next few days. We're meeting them at Billy's on Saturday for brunch.
I went over to the shop to pick up pastries and baguettes. And Coco Pops for Miss L. Lucky for her she doesn't know what she's missing in a freshly baked pain au chocolat!!
The forecast was pretty rubbish for today so we set of for Bayeux. Getting lost en route hunting for the Jerusalem War Cemetery. Our navigation skills are sadly lacking on the French lanes!!
But we found it eventually and Miss E and I had a walk around the forty seven graves (see extras). One of them was for a sixteen year old  who'd obviously lied about his age. Silly boy.
We had a lovely lunch at a restaurant in Bayeux (see extras for Mr K's amazing dessert) and then Mr K took the Little Misses to see the Bayeux Tapestry while Archie and I had a fabulous couple of hours exploring the town.
I visited on a school trip when I was eleven but have only vague memories. Mostly involving going into a Tabac and asking in schoolgirl French for some stamps for a postcard to England.
What a beautiful town it is! I loved walking round.
The Little Misses enjoyed the Tapestry. They were giddy to have found the man doing a poo!!
We took turns going into the Cathedral for a look round and then it was time to head home.
