York - day 1

Trip up the M1 (plus other roads) to York for the start of a short break holiday. Took just under4 hours, traffic good and weather mild.

Booked into accommodation then decided to take a trip to a local National Trust property to have cake & drink and see what’s on offer. Beningbrough Hall very pretty outside, walked around the gardens and visited the laundry room. Decided to visit again later in the week to look around the house. Bird deep in song in the gardens (don’t know what it was possibly a lark) and the poppies just coming out were so pretty.

Planning to do park + ride tomorrow into York :)

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there (a robin visited the garden this morning, so I know Dad came to say hello x).
